Steve Kadin is a seasoned nonprofit and healthcare finance executive with nearly three decades of experience helping mission-driven organizations strengthen financial performance, navigate complex regulatory environments, and achieve sustainable growth.
Prior to joining Knight’s Care, Steve spent more than 17 years with Acacia Network, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Finance. During his tenure, he oversaw financial operations across a diverse portfolio of healthcare, behavioral health, nursing home, supportive housing, affordable housing, and social service programs. His leadership supported more than $700 million in government grants, Medicaid, and managed-care funding, while contributing to significant organizational growth, including more than 30 acquisitions and affiliations.
Steve also brings extensive experience in real estate development and capital projects, having provided financial oversight for more than $500 million in projects under construction. His expertise spans affordable and supportive housing, low-income housing tax credits, HUD programs, budgeting and forecasting, audits, regulatory reporting, reimbursement, acquisitions, and multi-entity financial operations.
Throughout his career, Steve has been recognized for his ability to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into practical strategies that support both organizational performance and mission. His collaborative leadership approach has allowed him to work closely with executive teams, program leaders, government agencies, funders, auditors, financial institutions, and development partners.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. He has also completed Columbia Business School’s Middle Management Program and NYU School of Professional Studies’ Real Estate Development Program.
At Knight’s Care, Steve brings his extensive financial, and development expertise to support long-term sustainability, strengthen accountability, and advance responsible growth. His focus is ensuring that resources and financial strategy remain closely aligned with Knight’s Care’s mission and the organizations and communities served.
