HEALTHCARE AND INSTITUTIONAL COMMUNICATION: THE NATIONAL ROUNDTABLE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF HOSPITAL LOGISTICS, LEADERSHIP, AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Sixty delegates, including representatives from government and healthcare institutions, , academia, and the Church, will meet at the Center for American Studies to discuss the future of the Italian healthcare system. The focus will be on innovation, safety, sustainability, and the patient-centered care. 

Rome, 10 June 2026- A high-level institutional meeting of scientific and strategic importance will be held against the prestigious backdrop of the Center for American Studies.

The meeting will focus on the development prospects of the National Health Service, with a particular in terms of healthcare governance, hospital infrastructure safety, the integrated management of care services, managerial sustainability, and the humanization of care and assistance.

The event, titled “Norme, Riqualificazione e Umanizzazione delle Strutture Sanitarie. Strumenti per ospedali più sicuri e moderni centrati sulla persona” (Regulations, Requalification, and Humanization of Healthcare Facilities. Tools for Safer and Modern Patient-Centered Hospitals), is being promoted respectively by the two Parliamentary Intergroups, Progetto Italia and Emergenza Sanità e Ripresa. It will feature the strategic participation of numerous representatives from the key state bodies, academia, and the ecclesial community. The participants will engaged in a multidisciplinary debate on the primary challenges facing the Italian healthcare system.

The event forms part of a broader international collaboration project initiated during the recent institutional mission of the aforementioned parliamentary intergroups to the United States, which took place in Washington D.C. and New York. This mission explored healthcare innovation, governance, sustainability, and the humanization of care and assistance systems. The has played contributed significantly to strengthening the technical, scientific and institutional dialogue between Italy and the United States, and to fostering the exchange of experiences and best practices between the two countries.

In this context, Knights Care, an international organization based in the United States, represents an essential and natural link between the experiences between overseas experience and the institutional debate promoted in Italy.  The event is an Advanced Executive Program aimed at the executives of healthcare organizations, managers of strategic functions and professionals and public decision-makers involved in managing the transformation of the healthcare system.

• Hospital Operations Post-Earthquake: from damage assessment to Italian technical regulations supporting the structural resilience of hospitals during seismic events.

Particular attention will be devoted to the administrative, accounting, and managerial responsibility of strategic directorates, the risks arising from noncompliant procedures, and the tools that ensure transparency, sustainability, and the proper management of public resources.

A Roster of National and International Prominence

The importance of the event is highlighted by the multidisciplinarity and institutional prominence of the participants, who include representatives of government, pontifical, and ecclesial institutions, high state magistracies, healthcare managers, and academics.

The ultimate goal is to contribute to help build resilient, humane, and sustainable healthcare systems that align with recent regulatory developments and the best institutional practices. The goal is to establish a new vocabulary “health humanism of health” (La Regina) integrating mission, governance, quality of care, and operational excellence to achieve sustainability.

This national point of reference has an overseas perspective and is oriented towards the dialogue between healthcare governance, infrastructure innovation, and the humanization of care and assistance. This initiative builds on the dialogue established between Italy and the United States, promoting closer collaboration on healthcare leadership, organizational innovation, and safeguarding the most fragile persons. It aligns with the the invitation expressed by the Holy Father: “Magnificent humanity faces a decisive choice: to raise a new Tower of Babel or to build a city where God and Humanity cooperate together”
